Vintage Inspiration: Nancy Sinatra
I think few women epitomize the mid-1960's like Nancy Sinatra. Her style was the perfect mix of Mod and Flower Child and her curly blond hair is straight out of a Beach Boys song. Now days most people know her for the iconic song 'These Boots are Made for Walking' but she stared in films with both Elvis Presley and Peter Fonda, won a Grammy (for a song that was not 'Boots') and recorded one of the James Bond theme songs.
She popularized go-go boots and mini skirts, a look still popular today, but I love how she also mixed it up with a California-cool look of cable knit sweaters and felt hats. Her thick black eyeliner and pink lips were always flawless. I love this bottom photo with the drawn on lower eyelashes, it's so classic sixties, don't you think?
