The Helen Collection

If you follow me on Twitter or Instagram (@shopwanderlust) you may have seen some posts about a large private collection I recently purchased.

A woman came by the shop a couple weeks ago and told me she was looking to sell her aunt's clothing. Her aunt, Helen, passed away in 1984 and until recently Helen's husband had still lived in their home.

Now that the home was empty, the house was being cleared out to put on the market. I jumped at the chance to look at closets that hadn't been gone through in nearly 30 years!

I was able to go through 3 large walk-in closets and 1 coat closet and purchase some of the nicest dresses I've ever had in the shop.

Now that the first group is back from the cleaners, I'm excited to share these beautiful things with you.

This is just a sampling of the items we have from Helen. Most are 26-28 inch waists and they're all in fantastic condition. I hope you'll come by this week and check them out!

There's also more to Helen's story that I want to share. She was a very smart woman and I am waiting to hear a bit more from her niece so I can get my facts straight. It's so special to have the story and history behind each item.

  1. Wow, these are fantastic! I love the plaid and red lace ones! What a cool thing to happen!
